Signature Programs

Expanding Opportunity

Exploring Signature Elementary Programs

At Southwest Allen County Schools (SACS), we are continually striving to become the District of Choice, a place where families feel confident, supported, and inspired by the educational opportunities available to their children. As part of our Strategic Plan, we are exploring new Signature Elementary Programs designed to expand learning options and engage families in meaningful ways. These programs will be designed to provide unique educational experiences that inspire curiosity, foster creativity, and build strong foundations for future success.

This initiative aligns with our Strategic Plan’s Academics Pillar that focuses on expanding options and opportunities, tailoring programs, and engaging and supporting families. By thoughtfully developing unique, high-quality Signature Elementary Programs, we aim to offer diverse pathways that reflect the interests and values of our community, ensuring families won’t have to look elsewhere to find what they want for their children’s education.

At the heart of this work is our belief that families are the first and essential teachers of their children. Through open dialogue, transparent communication, and genuine partnership, we’re asking families what they want from their child’s elementary experience. By involving families in this process, we honor their role, strengthen our shared vision, and ensure that each program reflects the priorities of those we serve.

Together, we are shaping the future of elementary education at SACS that celebrates innovation, partnership, and family choice. Explore the links below to learn more about the potential Signature Programs and imagine what these experiences could mean for your child.

Learning from Others to Shape Opportunities for Our Students

As part of our commitment to expanding opportunities for students, our team has visited elementary schools recognized for their strong and innovative programming. These visits have allowed us to see classrooms in action, where students are deeply engaged in a variety of programming and themes, and to learn directly from educators and administrators who have successfully implemented different and unique models.

Our goal is to understand what makes these programs thrive and how we can bring those kinds of learning opportunities to our own elementary schools in ways that best serve our students and community.

While no decisions have been made, we are working with an ambitious timeline to explore and design at least one Elementary Signature Program that reflects the needs and interests of our families for the 2026–2027 school year. As we move forward, your voice will be essential in shaping this work.

Seeking Your Input

We invite you to share your thoughts and priorities as we continue this exciting process of building the future of learning in our district. Please take a moment to explore the key types of Elementary Signature Programming we’re currently considering below, and let us know what interests you most by completing the Community Input Form, linked here. You will also have the opportunity to suggest other ideas and programs that you believe would inspire and engage our students.

The programming described below represents the types of Elementary Signature Programs we are currently exploring and should not be considered final. As we move through this exploratory phase, some ideas will take shape while others will not, and that’s part of the process. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Deliberate planning will lead to meaningful, long-term success for our students, staff, schools and families.
