2025 Class Schedule 

As a selected member of the Class of 2025 Southwest Education Advocates, participants are asked to commit to meeting on all eight dates listed below. We have included the topics that will be covered:

November 13, 2024 – 5:45 pm – 7:45 pm   

Meet and Greet: Advocate introductions; Meet School Board members; School Finance 101; Facility and Maintenance overview; District Growth     

December 18, 2024 – 5:45 pm – 7:45 pm     

Meet with local and state representatives     

January 15, 2025 – 5:45 pm – 7:45 pm     

Legislative priorities and updates; Teacher of the Year; Strategic Planning update

February 19,  2025  – 9 am – 11 am  

Tour Transportation, SETS, and Maintenance; Look at school safety     

March 19,  2025 – 9 am – 12 pm     

Tour Homestead High School and Covington Elementary (lunch served)     

April 16,  2025 – 5:45 pm – 7:45 pm     

Look at Curriculum at SACS; Alternative schools and eSACS Virtual School; Human Resources overview     

May 14,  2025 – 5:45 pm – 7:45 pm     

Learn about Special Education;  ELL; Guidance programming     

May 20,  2025 – 6 pm Graduation
