Southwest Allen County Schools offers a variety of athletic sports camps throughout the year. The following camps are available for SUMMER 2024.

    American Red Cross Curriculum 

     

    LEVEL 1 – Introduction to Water Skills AGES 5 -7

    The objective of LEVEL 1 is to help students feel comfortable in the water. Students will learn to experience buoyancy, bubble blowing, enter and exit water independently, supported float on front and back, move through the water comfortably, supported kicking on front and back and introduction to alternating arm action. 

     

    LEVEL 2 – Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills AGES 6 -9

    Prerequisites: 6-9 years old and must be able to swim unassisted. The objective of LEVEL 2 is to give students success with fundamental skills. Students will learn to hold breath and fully submerge head, retrieve object under water, orientation to deep water, front and back float and glide, rhythmic breathing, flutter kick on front and back, and combined stroke on front and back. 

     

    LEVEL 3 – Stroke Development  AGES 7 – 12

    Prerequisites: 7-12 years old and must be able to demonstrate the skills described in LEVEL 2. The objective of LEVEL 3 is to build on the skills of Level 2 by providing additional guided practice. Students will refine rhythmic breathing, coordinate arm stroke for front crawl with breathing to the side, coordinate back crawl, elementary back stroke.

    SMS/WMS Pre-Season Volleyball Clinic:  

    The eighth annual volleyball clinic hosted by the Summit and Woodside volleyball coaches, and instructed by the University of Saint Francis head coach Scott Haddix and his coaching staff.  This is a great season opening clinic to break off the rust for the upcoming volleyball season.  Each grade (7th/8th) will have a different time slot. Final clinic dates/times (likely sometime the week of 7/29) will be available in July once Scott and his staff have confirmed their availability.  Once the clinic details are finalized, they will be available on the Summit and Woodside volleyball pages.

    SMS/WMS POST Season – 6th Grade Volleyball Camp:

    The ninth annual 6th grade fall volleyball camp hosted by the Summit and Woodside volleyball coaches.  A great opportunity for 6th grade girls to learn the game of volleyball.  All playing levels welcome.  Final details will be available after Labor Day.  Camp will begin the week of Oct. 28th.   Once the camp details are finalized, they will be available on the Summit and Woodside volleyball pages.
