A Message From Dr. Ginder, Superintendent

 SACS families and caregivers,

On behalf of Southwest Allen County Schools (SACS) students, staff, and school board, I would like to thank the Southwest Allen community for voting YES! for SACS and RENEWING our operating referendum this past Tuesday. As the Superintendent of this district, I am humbled to serve a district that is the center of a vibrant community.  This community not only recognizes the importance of education you support it.

Your continued investment is an investment in people. Referendum funds will be used 100% for salaries and benefits for our staff. Your Yes! for SACS vote will retain 43 classroom teachers, 2 guidance counselors and 1 police officer, while enabling us to hire an additional 26 positions including 14 classroom teachers, 7 guidance counselors/social works, 2 school police officers and 3 central office personnel.

Hiring additional personnel will not happen overnight, but we pledge to keep you informed of our progress.  Your support has positioned us to recruit high quality staff and teachers helping us to maintain small class sizes, continue current programming, increase school and student safety, as well as increase counseling services and mental health supports to meet the needs of our growing district. We will remain good stewards of these dollars.

Due to strict Indiana referendum guidelines, SACS’s ability to campaign for an operating referendum is limited. I would like to thank the YES! for SACS Parent Action Committee (PAC). The PAC was comprised of 40+ SACS families who helped generate awareness for our renewal campaign. It is because of their tireless efforts and dedication that we were able to reach deep into our community and explain to constituents who may or may not not have children in our schools, the importance of renewing this referendum.

As I visited southwest Allen County polling locations on Tuesday, I was reminded how blessed our school district is. Thank you, voters, for your continued investment in our schools and helping Southwest Allen County remain an exceptional community to live, work, and learn in.
