2021-2022
Return to the Classroom

Dear SACS Families,

Southwest Allen County Schools (SACS) is committed to the safety and health of our students, staff, and community. As we prepare to welcome students back to school for the 2021-2022 school year, we have collaboratively worked with the Allen County Department of Health (ACDH), Indiana Department of Health (IDOH), and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), to update our Return to the Classroom plan.

At the July 13, 2021 Board Meeting, SACS Board of Trustees approved the attached plan that utilizes   consistent and layered prevention strategies bringing SACS students back to the classroom. Our current Return to Classroom plan should be considered “fluid” and as data and information changes the current plan may see revision. We will continue to modify the plan as guidance is updated. SACS will continue to work collaboratively with the ACDH, IDOH, Indiana Department of Education, CDC, our students, parents, staff, and the community to continue to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

We recognize not everyone feels the same way about returning to school in person. While some are excited and ready others feel anxious, and unsure, worried about potential risks. Your child’s health is our number one priority, now and always. Your schools, teachers, support staff, and administrative team are excited to have our students back in the building where learning is more readily supported, and students find community and care.

Sincerely,

Park D. Ginder, Ph.D., Superintendent
