Anita Gross Receives Sagamore of the Wabash

On Wednesday March 21, retired SACS Social Worker, Anita Gross was surprised and awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash by Senator David Long on behalf of Governor Holcomb.  

The Allen County School Safety Commission and Southwest Allen County Schools (SACS) nominated Ms. Gross in an effort to recognize her dedication and commitment to the safety and well-being of our community.  Before retiring in 2017, Anita served as SACS’ Social Worker for more than 28 years. She touched the lives of thousands of girls and boys by providing integral services to educators, community members, students, and families to create the best programs, plans, and partnerships to help all children be successful in and out of school. Additionally, Anita unified school districts within Allen County keeping all schools at the forefront of safety practices and protocols.

Awarded by the governor, The Sagamore of the Wabash is the highest distinction in Indiana bestowed to those who render distinguished service to the state.
