Parent Survey - Input Needed

Parent Survey about Grading and Assessment
Posted on 02/20/2018

Southwest Allen County Schools (SACS) understands that communicating how we assess and grade student work impacts everyone involved in a child’s education. SACS wants to ensure its assessment and grading practices are effective, fair, and beneficial to students.

SACS is partnering with expert researchers in the field, Drs. Thomas Guskey and Laura Link, professors at The University of Kentucky and Indiana University –Purdue University Fort Wayne respectively. Over the course of our two-year partnership, Drs. Guskey and Link aim to support us in determining the most effective assessment and grading practices and how best to communicate your student’s progress to you. To fully accomplish this, we need your input.

To help, please consider taking this brief, online Parent survey: SACS Grading & Reporting Survey- Parents. The survey should take no more than 7 minutes to complete. This survey will close on February 23, 2018, at 11:59 p.m. ‚Äč The survey deadline has been extended through Monday, February 26, at noon.

All information collected in this survey is completely anonymous. Results will be compiled and coded by assigned numbers, not names. Moreover, no one, including me, has access to any names associated with this survey via email or website distribution. Your input is strictly confidential and greatly appreciated.

Each household should take the survey once. If you have more than one child enrolled in Southwest Allen County Schools, please select ONE of your children and choose responses according to his/her grade level.

Drs. Guskey and Link will host several SACS parent meetings in March. Highlights of the SACS Parent survey results will be shared along with details of future SACS pilot programs. Mark your calendars now and consider attending a meeting on Monday, March 12 from 4-5 p.m. or 7-8 p.m., or Tuesday, March 13 from 9-10 a.m. Further meeting details will be shared with you in the near future.

Thank you in advance for your valuable input.
